Major Singh, from Punjab was awarded death penalty and 11 others have been given life imprisonment after they
were
found guilty of murdering a co-Indian worker after a drunken brawl in 2009. A Pakistani man was also sentenced
to
life imprisonment in the case. The identity of the deceased, who belonged to Kerala, was not revealed.

Those handed life imprisonment include Sukhjit Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Sukhwinder Singh, Surjit Singh, Manjit Singh, Rashpal Singh, Balwinder Singh, Amarjit Singh, Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Sarabhjit Singh and Pakistani national Mohd Rafat.
The case was under the Jebel Ali police station in Dubai.

இந்த வழக்கு துபாயில் உள்ள ஜெபெல் அலி காவல் நிலையத்தின் கீழ் இருந்தது. இவ்வழக்கு விசாரணை கடந்த ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் 6-ம் தேதி நிறைவடைந்தது. தீர்ப்பு மட்டும் ஜனவரி மாதம் 3-ம் தேதி வழங்குவதாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் தீர்ப்பு முதலில் பிப்ரவரி 7-ம் தேதிக்கு ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டு, பின்னர் மார்ச் 14-ம் தேதி அளிக்கப்பட்டது.
